From his foster...
We can't say enough good things about Curly! If you're looking for the perfect family dog who will waltz in to your home and become fast friends with dogs and humans alike, Curly is your guy! Curly is a wonderful little dog with nearly perfect house manners, only nibbling on the occasional piece of paper while his foster parents are away at work during the day. He is reliably house trained and has been left out in the house for a full work day with no accidents! Curly is also great with children and greets them with joyous kises to the hands and face! His perfect size and temperment for children because he is big enough to handle a little rough housing, but small and gentle enough not to knock kids over or intimidate them. Even though Curly is clearly some sort of terrier, he is not overly yippy. He will alert you to strange noises, but does not bark incessently and minds when you tell him to stop. Speaking of minding -- Curly will be easy to train because he is not as stubborn as a typical terrier. He really does want to please and happily comes when called, stops when told "no," and already sits nicely for treats! Yes, Curly is calm for a young dog -- but only in comparison to the Labs we're used to! Curly has lots of personality and loves to play! Our neighbor said it best when he declared Curly a "salty dog," and said he would be happiest as a "dock dog" or "co-pilot," and we can see him doing both! Curly faithfully follows his foster mom around the house and is looking for an owner who will love him and include him in the fun things in life. We have not yet tested Curly with cats, but nothing makes us think that he would not peacefully co-exist with a house cat.
Oh yes we did! We rescued another darling scruffy and christened him Curly :) And no, we don't see an ounce of labby in him, in fact we're not sure what we see in him? Beyond adorable that is. A Vol mentioned he resembled a red brindle Cairn, so for the moment, we're sticking with it! Curly was a tiny third face peering out of pictures sent highlighting Larry and Moe. While his sidekicks were falling all over each other vying for the photogs attention, Curly gazed on. In the midst of frolic, Curly was the calm one. We wouldn't dream of leaving one third of a famous trio behind, so now the gangs all here :)
So who is Curly? We're still getting acquainted, but here's what we know. He's approximately 2 years old, cute as a button, not high energy, people and dog friendly, gentle and loving. He's been trained to basic commands, prefers cuddles to kisses and treats to toys. He has a wirey coat so expect him to shed minimally. He's camera shy, not a fan of cameos. Rest assured, we're doing our level best to capture and bring him to life in pictures!
Who could resist this labby pretender? Gift yourself with Curly.
